Sarah Lucier is a 21-year-old singer-songwriter from Elmira, Ontario. She is currently in her fourth year at Western University, earning a Bachelor's degree in Popular Music Studies. Sarah has been singing her whole life, with formal training since age 11, in both popular and classical voice. Growing up, she was a member of the pop choir KW Glee, singing in seven shows and participating in musicals and choirs throughout her schooling. She has her grade seven voice with the Royal Conservatory of Music and is continuing to complete her grades. 

 

Sarah studied Classical Voice at Western University for one year before switching to the Popular Music program to pursue her own music. Her singing style is wide ranging; country, pop, rock & roll, r&b, with a unique pop-country sound of her own. She can pull off the country twang, yet has a forte for pop ballads and is continuing to develop this into her own songs. Sarah has been songwriting since she was a little girl and is currently working towards recording and releasing an EP of her own.

 

Not only does Sarah work as a singer and songwriter, but she has experience behind the scenes, studying desktop music production- recording, mixing and mastering her own original song demos in LOGIC PRO X. Sarah is a well-versed performer, taking the stage to sing at various events including charity, weddings, live streams, and band concerts. In addition, she has both performed and collaborated with various musicians to record songs for social media and promotional purposes. Sarah was a finalist in this year's The Western Voice, selected out of a pool of over 50 applicants, and had the opportunity to perform for a crowd and Killy, the rapper. She was a vocalist in Western's very first Pop Band and is currently in the musical, "Working" at Western University.

 Sarah is currently taking courses in vocal pedagogy, choral conducting, and is a member of SNATS (Student National Association of Teachers of Singing). She plans to continue her studies in vocal music education after graduating from Western.
